The Good Idea x RebrainIndia: 200.000 mangroves to reforest Sagar Island

The Good Idea, in collaboration with Rebrain India, is supporting Prameya Foundation’s mangrove
reforestation project.

The planting site is located on Sagar Island in West Bengal and it’s managed by the local community, a group of particularly active women who is directly involved in the mangrove propagules lifecycle management.

The project aims to restore 10 hectares of land by planting 200,000 mangrove trees. Here, the ecosystem has been degraded and is in need of a new mangrove forest to increase biodiversity levels, strengthen land resilience to coastal erosion, and also create benefits for local families.

For this Christmas, The Good Idea decided to gift its clients with a mangrove tree, thus financing the project’s first planting activity, for a total of 4500 mangroves.

Thanks to the Foundation, we can see the actual progress of this reforestation process in the box below:

but nevertheless reliable as resulting from a scientific measurement and
estimation of the CO2 tonnes absorbed.
